We begin the year with a bang with Galveston's annual Mardi Gras celebration, which typically takes place in February. This two-week extravaganza is the third largest Mardi Gras celebration in the United States, and believe me, we know how to throw a party! From the moment the first bead is thrown, the island becomes a flurry of vibrant parades, balcony parties, and elegant masked balls. The music flows through the streets, and the tantalizing aromas of Creole and Cajun food fill the air. There's nothing quite like Mardi Gras in Galveston!

As springtime blooms, we welcome the Galveston Island Wine Festival. This is the perfect event for all wine lovers as it brings together vineyard offerings from around the globe. Sip and savor your way through an array of fine wines, while enjoying live music and mouth-watering food pairings. The festival also includes a champagne brunch that you won’t want to miss. It's a delightful event that truly encapsulates the elegant, laid-back island lifestyle we cherish here in Galveston.

Summer in Galveston would not be complete without the annual AIA Sandcastle Competition. Every June, our sandy shores are transformed into an outdoor art gallery, filled with intricate sand sculptures crafted by talented teams of architects, designers, and engineers. From fairy-tale castles to mythical creatures, the creativity and craftsmanship on display is genuinely mind-boggling. It's a fun, family-friendly event that perfectly captures the spirit of summer on the island.

As autumn leaves start to fall, Galveston plays host to the annual ARToberFEST. This two-day outdoor festival celebrates the vibrant arts community in Galveston, showcasing a wide range of original artwork, photography, and crafts from local and regional artists. With live music, food trucks, and a beer and wine garden, ARToberFEST is more than just an art show – it's a community celebration that truly brings the city to life!
